On Monday, French Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian confirmed that France expresses its support for the Republic of Congo. This statement came after serious military clashes occurred in the Republic of Congo between government troops and armed groups. Le Drian also emphasized the importance of all parties abiding by the ceasefire established at the end of March. "We support the Republic of Congo and encourage the parties involved in the conflict to cease hostilities and engage in negotiations," Le Drian stated. France has also indicated its readiness to offer assistance in resolving the conflict and supporting international efforts to restore peace and stability in the region.
